THE PROVO RIVER
The Provo River is a premier blue ribbon trout fishery with rainbow and brown trout at record lengths. Typical fish are 18 inches or bigger. The river originates in the Uinta Mountains, runs through the Heber Valley and flows down Provo Canyon.

DEER CREEK RESERVOIR STATE PARK
Deer Creek covers approximately 3,000 acres, and the entire shore is publicly owned with unrestricted access. The fluctuation in water levels every year can affect fish populations. Fish species found in Deer Creek: black crappie, bluegill & green sunfish, brown trout, common carp, crayfish, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, Utah chub, walleye and yellow perch.

JORDANELLE RESERVOIR STATE PARK
This reservoir is a popular destination for locals, and is well-known as a trophy smallmouth bass fishery. Perch fishing at Jordanelle is very fast. Other fish species at the reservoir: brown trout, cutthroat trout, largemouth bass, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, Utah chub, walleye, yellow perch.

STRAWBERRY RESERVOIR
This reservoir is a large impoundment located 23 miles southeast of Heber City on Hwy 40 in Wasatch County, and is about 7,602 feet in elevation. Strawberry Reservoir supports one of the west’s leading cutthroat fisheries, and is the state’s premier cold-water fishery. Fish species in Strawberry Reservoir: crawdads, cutthroat trout, kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, red shiner, Utah chub, Utah sucker.

THE UINTA MOUNTAINS
There are over 1,000 natural lakes in the Uintas, and more than 500 of them support populations of game fish. And if that’s not enough, there’s over 400 miles of streams. Temperatures above 10,000 feet are rarely above 80 degrees during the middle of the summer. Night temperatures are commonly 30-40 degrees. Fish species found in the Uintas: arctic grayling, brook trout, cutthroat trout, golden trout, mountain whitefish, rainbow trout, tiger trout.
